Bring the EV1 back, the way it was meant to be, as a convertible to cruise the hills of Beverly and the beach at Malibu, with a window low enough to stick out your elbow! Remy C.

EV petition/pledge info for ET

Dear Electrifying Times,

I'm the perpetrator of these petitions; any help with gathering signatures for them (nearly a thousand altogether so far!) and the MoveOn pledge will be greatly appreciated. I drove an EV1 for four days in LA in early 2000 (I live in Florida), and I've been agitating for general EV sales ever since.

Petition hosted by PetitionOnline.com calling on GM to mass-produce and sell its EV1 to the American public:

Petition hosted by Care2.com calling on GM to mass-produce and sell its EV1 to the American public:

This one has almost 700 signatures.

New petition: hosted by ipetitions.com calling on the EPA and DOE to encourage automakers to mass-produce and sell EVs to the American public:

A previous EV1 petition on E-thePeople.com has been sent to GM with over 1000 signatures. Apparently, due to E-thePeople's redesigned service, this petition was almost impossible to find without the link. There is still an article there with associated poll on EVs in the Public theme:

MoveOn-sponsored Save General Motors pledge to buy only much cleaner vehicles from GM.

Thanks.
